How We Do
I’ve been asked by several people how we do what we do. They ask the question in a number of ways and mean a number of things. It seems that the majority want to know what model we use to grow spiritual communities.
We don’t use a model becuase we work with people, not specimen; I suppose I should expound on that.
I feel that the mindset of creating replicatable models is the same mindset that thought all good people would agree on who to vote for, or that one could hand a Bible to 10 people and that they would all agree after they read it. It is an invalid mindset and it has led to a tremendous amount of conflict in our world. It is a fundamental flaw in the modern worldview and it is a bleeding wound in the torso of our society.
Here it is said in a less harsh way. When you figure out what you are going to do with people before you meet them you’ve done something wrong. What you have done wrong is that you have reduced them to a statistic or situation. The people we meet are not statistics that can be researched, they are people, friends, who are intrinsically unique. People need to be dealt with as people, unique and personal.
